London born and raised, Alison Ferrier began her musical career in Melbourne Australia, playing acoustic guitar and fiddle with country duo The Wayward Fancies. They released their independent album 'Meanwhile In The Parlour' in 2005 (the song 'Best Behaviour' was subsequently covered by Suzannah Espie) and played their final show at The Forum as part of The Melbourne International Film Festival. Playing fiddle, acoustic guitar, mandolin and singing harmonies in country 4 piece The Hallrunners and folk/country 3 piece 'Sean McMahon's Western Union' followed with album releases by both bands.

With songs described as having "incredible charm, wisdom and grace", Ferrier released her debut solo country/folk record 'Sugar Baby' in 2012, produced by roots guru Jeff Lang. A new and formidable band was formed in 2013 with 3 members of The Stillsons: Justin Bernasconi on electric guitar and harmonies, Cat Canteri on drums and harmonies and Ben Franz on upright bass. The new album 'Be Here Now' was released June 2015.
